"It matters a great deal who is going to win, but not at all who won"
2015 visit
Stuart paid his sixth visit to Togo in January 2015. The initial reason for the connection with Togo was to support a girls’ football team, Amis du Monde. Over the years relationships have developed with the Togo Olympic Committee, whose Olympic Attaché Stuart was at the London Olympics.
The 2015 visit had four main purposes:
Assess the project with the girls’ football team
I saw the girls play and had one formal meeting with the coach/team organizer as well as several shorter chats. It is a good work.
Amis du monde after their game.
The game was played on a sand pitch, a common surface in Togo
Handing over kit to the Amis.

Meet the Olympic Committee
Stuart had five meetings with the three keys people in the Olympic Committee and continued to develop relationships. Stuart will be working with them in Rio 2016.

Encourage the sports chaplain
Stuart has a deep respect for the work of Magloire, the sports chaplain. It was great to spend time with him and to meet some of the sportspeople he works with.
Take sports equipment
It is one of Togo’s frustrations that basic sports equipment costs more (in money terms) in Togo than it does in UK and is there massively more expensive in terms of cost as a proportion of income.

Stuart was able to take 44 football boots, 14 balls, 33 polo shirts,15 bags and 2 complete team football kits.
Kit was provided by the FA, British Athletics, Kidlington Girls' Football team and individual supporters of Verite Sport.
Kidlington Girls' FA donated this football kit.

In addition a grant from Ball Project enabled him to resource various Christian projects as well as clubs where Magloire is chaplain. Click for Ball Project Togo report
