"Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play…it is war minus the shooting."

George Orwell

Visit to Congo

Stuart was in Congo-Brazzaville for a week in January 2007. The main purpose of the visit was to speak at a sports ministry training conference. Thirty pastors and church leaders came to learn more about sports ministry and church and sport.

He also preached in a church on Sunday morning to 250 and did Bible Studies with two groups of army sportspeople - a handball team and a group of boxers and a group from martial arts.

Congo league champions, Etoile de Congo, were preparing for their Champions League game. Stuart was able to watch them train, talk to the President and speak from Romans 12 to 16 players.

The visit and activities were organised by Sabin, Service and Armand.
