Verite Sport was delighted to sponsor the 14th Annual Easter Celebration Cricket Tournament in Pakistan for the fourth year running.Organizer Victor told us, “Cricket is a heartbeat of Pakistani nation – it is everywhere. What a wonderful way - to bring the living hope, peace and unity in this unique country”.
Twelve teams took part in the tournament, enabling the organizers to serve 192 players from different communities. The tournament was organized under the theme of ’The Living Hope’ – In the final Love Pakistan cricket team defeated St. Lukas by 50 runs.
All the participants were encouraged and ready to take the challenge to make a difference in their personal lives and community.
“I started my umpiring carrier from your tournament a few years ago. I was hopeless at that time; I remember you prayed for me. As a result, now I am a very busy umpire and I always enjoyed the atmosphere of this Christian tournament. You are doing a great job, keep it up!” said one of the umpires.
NEXT STEP – a dream! “We have been dreaming for many years to start a professional cricket team of OM Pakistan. Now, we are launching this team in May 2012 – Praise God! We want to see this cricket team as salt in light in Pakistan and all over the world”. Victor.
