Edited by Christopher Davies, Studley, Know the Score, 2008
ISBN: 978-1-84818-507-4 272 pages plus 16 pages of colour photos.
The book consists of 67 essays of about 4 pages each by different football writers on random aspects of football – from the influence of Africa on modern world football to profiles of Mark Hughes and Steven Gerrard, the rise and fall of Weymouth or Bristol City.
There are some very readable articles and some witty lines but generally I felt the standard was mediocre. The title is the cleverest thing in the book.
