Heart of a champion, Roger Lipe, Cross Training Publishing, 2005 ISBN1-929478-70-4 (373 pages)

Roger Lipe is one of very few people who are both sports ministry practitioners and writers. He works as a university sports chaplain and is on staff with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in the USA.

Roger writing a weekly sports devotional and has also a chaplain's blog. His weekly devotions take Biblical principles and apply them to sport. Each devotional is 200-300 words, just the right length for the busy sports person to read.

Typical subjects are practice, focus, fear, discipline, finishing, fierce competitors .

This book is subtitled "A year-long daily devotional for the people of sport" and as the advert in my part of the world says, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

I strongly recommend Roger's devotions to all sports people - whether in book form or via email.
