"Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing."
Psalm 73
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:26Bishop Graham Cray points out that at last 45 times a Bible passage changes radically on the words, “But God”. Humanly speaking, our situation may be hopeless but God can change everything.
Psalm 73 refers to a situation that we all recognize where we are at the end of our own strength and powers but God changes everything.
The greatest example of this is the death of Jesus which looked like the end. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. Acts 3:15
Another example is the life of Joseph, whose future looked bleak: “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him. (Acts 7:9).
You may be feeling the your life is out of control – injury, out of contract, loss of form, loss of self-confidence, overlooked by coach etc. Remember the key words “But God”. Whatever your circumstances today, God can make the difference – and he will.
